We know you care about our patients as much as we do, so we have a range of measures in place to help keep our patients safe.

 

Visitor information for St John of God Health Care hospitals and services

Visitor information, such as hours, number of visitors and mask requirements, varies from state to state. Please see visitor restrictions and guidelines for each of our hospitals by state below.

General visitor information

The safety and wellbeing of our patients, visitors and caregivers is our priority.

You cannot visit our hospitals if:

  • You are unwell.
  • You have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last seven days.
  • You have been in close contact with a COVID-19 positive person in the last seven days.
  • You have any symptoms of infectious illness, such as: fever (37.5 degrees or more), cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, loss of smell or taste, runny nose, diarrhoea, nausea or vomiting.

We thank you for your support and understanding. 

Visitors may be asked to provide a negative rapid antigen test (RAT) result if visiting a high-risk area, e.g. transplant ward, haematology unit, oncology ward, renal dialysis unit). Your RAT should be undertaken prior to each visit.

St John of God Burwood and Richmond Hospitals

Visitors are permitted at St John of God Burwood and Richmond Hospitals.

Visitors are requested to not come onsite if they have symptoms of COVID-19 or other acute respiratory infections. 

Daily visiting hours for St John of God Burwood and Richmond Hospitals:

  • 4.00pm to 8.00pm weekdays
  • 10.00am to 4.00pm weekends and public holidays.

Hawkesbury District Health Service

Two visitors may be permitted per patient at any one time at Hawkesbury District Health Service.

The delivery suite permits two partner/support people. 

The emergency department permits one support person.

Visiting hours: 8.00am to 8.00pm (rest period in maternity 12.00pm to 3.00pm).

Masks are not required to be worn in general clinical areas. 

Surgical masks are required to be worn in the emergency department.

St John of God Ballarat Hospital

Visitor restrictions: Two visitors at a time. No limit on the length of time (within visiting hours). Maternity patients can have two visitors at a time, but children (under 18) may only visit if they are siblings of the newborn.
Visiting hours (general ward): 10.00am to 8.00pm weekdays, and 10.00am to 6.00pm on weekends.
Visiting hours (maternity ward): 2.00pm to 8.00pm weekdays, and 2.00pm to 6.00pm on weekends.

Masks are no longer required throughout the hospital, with one exception. If you are visiting the Emergency Department you must wear an N95 mask.

Maternity patients are allowed:

  • two visitors at a time, with unlimited visitors each day.
  • parents only in special care nursery
  • siblings of baby are the only under 18 allowed.

Please check with the maternity patient before visiting the hospital.

St John of God Bendigo Hospital

Visitor restrictions: Two visitors per day, in visiting hours.
Visiting hours: General ward 11.00am to 1.00pm and 3.00pm to 8.00pm, Maternity ward 3.00pm to 8.00pm.

Children under 16 are not counted within the two visitor limit.

In line with increasing number of COVID-19 and other respiratory infections in the city of Greater Bendigo, all patient-facing caregivers and hospital visitors are now required to wear surgical masks. 
Visitors are not required to sign in to the hospital.
Please follow all instructions and treat our caregivers with respect.

St John of God Berwick Hospital

Visitor restrictions: Masks are required for all patients, visitors and those accompanying patients in our wards or day treatment areas.
Masks are required to be worn by caregivers including doctors with direct patient contact.
Visiting hours:
10.00am to 1.00pm and 4.00pm to 7.00pm.

St John of God Frankston Rehabilitation Hospital

Visitor restrictions: Masks are required for all patients, visitors and those accompanying patients in our wards or day treatment areas.
Masks are required to be worn by caregivers including doctors with direct patient contact.
Visiting hours: 2.00pm to 6.00pm Monday to Friday, and 12.00pm to 4.00pm on weekends.

St John of God Geelong Hospital

Visitor restrictions: Two visitors at any one time during visiting hours.
Visiting hours (general): 10.00am to 1.00pm and 3.00pm to 8.00pm.
Visiting hours (maternity): 3.00pm to 5.00pm and 6.30pm to 8.00pm.
Visitors may attend together or separately. Children under the age of 18 can be included in one of the two visitors.

St John of God Langmore Centre

Visitor restrictions: Masks are required for all patients, visitors and those accompanying patients in our wards or day treatment areas.
Masks are required to be worn by caregivers including doctors with direct patient contact.
Visiting hours: 4.00pm to 5.00pm and 6.00pm to 7.00pm.

St John of God Warrnambool Hospital

Visitor restrictions: Inpatients no longer have any visitor restrictions. Day Surgery may only have visitors via prior arrangement. (Unless a carer for children, or patient with a disability)
Visiting hours: 10.00am to 6.30pm.

 

It is no longer mandatory for a surgical face mask to be worn by patients, visitors or staff in general clinical areas within WA hospitals. Use of a surgical face mask may still be required in some higher-risk areas.

St John of God Bunbury Hospital

Visiting hours: 3.00pm to 8.00pm

St John of God Geraldton Hospital

Visiting hours: 11.00am to 8.00pm

St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals

Arrangements are in line with East Metropolitan Health Service.
