We know you care about our patients as much as we do, so we have a range of measures in place to help keep our patients safe. 
 

Visitor information for St John of God Health Care hospitals’ 

Our visitor restrictions vary from state to state. 

General visitor information

The safety and wellbeing of our patients, visitors and caregivers is our priority;

You cannot visit our hospitals if: 

1. You are unwell.
2. You have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last seven days.
3. You have been in close contact with a COVID-19 positive person in the last seven days
3. You have any symptoms of infectious illness, such as: fever (37.5 degrees or more), cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, loss of smell or taste, runny nose, diarrhoea, nausea or vomiting.

Visitor information, such as hours, number of visitors and mask requirements, varies from state to state.

 St John of God Burwood and Richmond Hospitals

Visitors are permitted at St John of God Burwood and Richmond Hospitals.

Visitors must:

  • Wear a surgical mask correctly at all times while in the facility. Children aged 12 and under are not required to wear masks.
  • Not have tested positive to COVID-19 within the last 10 days
  • Not have tested positive to another acute respiratory infection in the last seven days
  • Not have symptoms of COVID-19 or other acute respiratory infections
  • Not be a high risk contact of someone who has COVID-19 in the previous 14 days
  • Not have arrived from overseas in the past seven days


Daily visiting hours for St John of God Burwood and Richmond Hospitals:

  • 4.00pm to 8.00pm weekdays
  • 10.00am to 4.00pm weekends and public holidays.
     

Hawkesbury District Health Service

Two visitors may be permitted per patient at any one time at Hawkesbury District Health Service.

The delivery suite permits two partner/support people. 

The emergency department permits one support person. 

Visitors must:

  • Wear a surgical mask correctly at all times while in the facility. Children aged 12 and under are not required to wear masks.
  • Not have tested positive to COVID-19 within the last 10 days
  • Not have tested positive to another acute respiratory infection in the last seven days
  • Not have symptoms of COVID-19 or other acute respiratory infections
  • Not be a high risk contact of someone who has COVID-19 in the previous 14 days
  • Not have arrived from overseas in the past seven days

 

Daily visiting hours for Hawkesbury District Health Service:

  • 8.00am to 8.00pm (rest period in maternity 12.00pm to 3.00pm).

Visitor information

St John of God Ballarat Hospital
Visitor restrictions: Two visitors per day. No limit on the length of time (within visiting hours). Maternity to have one support person and one additional visitor. 
Visiting hours: General ward: 10.00am to 8.00pm, Maternity ward: 2.00pm to 8.00pm, Intensive Care/Coronary Care: 10.00am to 12:30pm and 2:30pm to 8.00pm

All visitors of all ages can visit patients.
Visitors are not required to provide a vaccination status.
N95 masks will be required for all visitors.

The cafe is open to visitors and the public. 

Maternity patients are allowed:

  • one support person and one visitors each day
  • parents only in special care nursery
  • siblings of baby are the only U18s allowed

Please check with the maternity patient before visiting the hospital.

To further protect our patients and staff during this time, all visitors who attend must wear an N95 mask at all times for the duration of their visit.

St John of God Bendigo Hospital
Visitor restrictions: Two visitors per day, in visiting hours
Visiting hours:General ward 11.00am to 1.00pm and 3.00pm to 8.00pm, Maternity ward 3.00pm to 8.00pm

Children under 16 are not counted within the two visitor limit.
Visitors are not required to sign in to the hospital.
Visitors eight years old and above will need to wear a surgical mask whilst in the hospital, including patient rooms.

St John of God Berwick Hospital
Visitor restrictions: All visitors must produce a negative RAT if not vaccinated and wear an N95 mask.
Visitors must wear a mask at all times when in the hospital (including the patient rooms).
Visitors must not remove their mask to eat and drink, unless in the Café.

Visiting hours: 10.00am to 1.00pm and 4.00pm to 7.00pm 

St John of God Frankston Rehabilitation Hospital
Visiting is not permitted at present due to increased cases of COVID-19 in the local community (except limited palliative care visitors)
All visitors must produce a negative RAT if not vaccinated and wear an N95 mask
All outpatients (apart from those with significant cardiac issues) are required to wear N95 masks, surgical masks are required for those who cannot wear an N95 mask
COVID vaccination certificates will be checked on admission for patients and their carers
Carers will only be allowed to sessions if their attendance is deemed necessary by the Allied Health team
Outpatients, carers and palliative care visitors must produce a negative RAT 
Palliative care visitors are permitted but asked to keep to a minimum where possible

St John of God Geelong Hospital
Visitor restrictions: Two visitors per day for up to two hours, in visiting hours.
Visiting hours: 10.00am to 1.00pm and 3.00pm to 8.00pm
Visitors may attend together or separately. Children under the age of 18 can be included in one of the two visitors.

St John of God Langmore Centre
Visitor restrictions: One visitor per day, in visiting hours
All visitors must produce a negative RAT if not vaccinated and wear an N95 mask
Visitors must wear a mask at all times when in the hospital (including the patient rooms)
Visiting hours: 4.00pm to 5.00pm and 6.00pm to 7.00pm

St John of God Warrnambool
Visitor restrictions: Inpatients may have two visitors during visiting hours
Visiting hours: 12:30pm to 6:30pm
Day stay unit and Day Oncology will not be allowed visitors at this time.

Our hospital visiting hours have been updated from Friday, 4 November, 2022.

 Please be aware, to protect our patients, use of surgical face masks in our hospitals is strongly encouraged and may be a requirement in some areas.
