26 March 2019 St John of God Geraldton Hospital CEO Scott Daczko

Scott Daczko, who has acted in the role since January 2019, was appointed to the permanent position in March after moving to Geraldton from New South Wales to take up the position.

Scott was previously the Director of Nursing, Midwifery and Community Services at Hawkesbury District Health Service in Western Sydney, which is also a part of St John of God Heath Care.

“I am really excited to continue in this role permanently and lead St John of God Geraldton Hospital which has such as strong connection and history with the region,” Scott said.

“My focus is on engaging with the community to ensure we provide an excellent patient experience, offering a high level of quality and safety, and ensuring that people living in the Mid West know about our care and the services available locally so they can avoid unnecessary travel down to Perth.”

Scott has more than 20 years’ experience as a nurse and nursing leader having worked in both public and private hospitals.

“My experience at Hawkesbury District Health Service, which is operated as a public private partnership with St John of God Health Care and NSW Health, has given me a really good understanding of the importance of an interconnected health system,” he said.

“Our strong relationship with Geraldton Regional Hospital is not only important for the viability of our health service but also to ensure our services meet community healthcare needs locally.”

St John of God Geraldton Hospital is a 60-bed private hospital providing a comprehensive range of services including orthopaedic surgery, obstetric and maternity care, chemotherapy as well as general medicine, general surgery and palliative care.

“I am looking forward to helping continue to grow St John of God Geraldton Hospital and introducing new services and developing our specialties further to meet the needs of the local community.”
