Marking its 20th anniversary this year, the WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards (WANMEA) recognise and celebrate the exceptional contributions made by nurses and midwives to the WA health system. More than 43,000 nurses and midwives work across WA. In March, some of the State’s finest were announced as finalists.

St John of God Health Care Interim Chief Nursing Officer Janet Jones said it is wonderful to have St John of God Health Care recognised among the State’s best.

“We’re extremely proud to announce that two of our own have been selected as finalists in two categories for the 2024 Awards,” she said.

“This recognition underscores the exceptional dedication and expertise of our caregivers. It’s a testament to the pivotal role they play in delivering high-quality health care to the people of WA. Their commitment and compassion is inspiring.”

Please join us in congratulating these two outstanding caregivers in the following categories.

  • Excellence in Research: Dr Alannah Cooper – St John of God Subiaco Hospital.
  • Consumer Appreciation Award: Jo Palmer – Drug and Alcohol Withdrawal Network, St John of God Health Care.

The winners will be announced at the Gala Ball on Saturday 11 May.
