Dr Shrestha is a respiratory physician with a special interest in pleural disease. He graduated in medicine with Honours from Kathmandu University, Nepal in 2000 and after working briefly in the UK, moved to Perth to complete specialist training in internal and respiratory medicine.    

After being awarded his FRACP in 2012 he undertook an additional training fellowship in pleural disease. Apart from working at St John of God Murdoch and Subiaco Hospitals, he also holds a position as a Consultant Physician – Respiratory Medicine at Fiona Stanley Hospital, providing consultation on all aspects of respiratory disease.    

Dr Shrestha is actively involved in a number of international clinical pleural trials involving patients with malignant pleural disease, pleural infection and pneumothorax. He is sub-investigator in a number of clinical trials run through St John of God Murdoch Hospital. He is also a convener and faculty member of practical pleural courses run through CTEC, UWA.
