Where we are
Dr Mina Guirgis is one of Perth's most comprehensively trained general and upper gastrointestinal surgeons, bringing with him an extraordinary breadth of national and international surgical experience — four years, four subspecialty training fellowships, four of the finest institutions in the Southern Hemisphere, training alongside world-renowned surgeons including Professor Michael Talbot and Drs Ken Loi, Saxon Connor and Ross Roberts across upper gastrointestinal, bariatric, endoscopic and general surgery. Dr Guirgis is also a graduate of AANZGOSA — Australasia's most prestigious Gastro-Oesophageal surgical program — and holds a Masters in Minimally Invasive Surgery, representing dedicated academic and clinical mastery of the latest advances in modern surgical technique. That level of national and international training and experience is rare. Finding it locally is rarer still.
That expertise translates directly into better outcomes. At Core Surgical WA, the very latest minimally invasive techniques meet a truly holistic approach — treating not just your condition, but your overall health and wellbeing. Dr Guirgis is deeply committed to working hand in hand with your GP and specialists, prioritising prompt and thorough communication at every stage of your care. Great surgery doesn't happen in isolation — and neither does great recovery.
Dr Mina Guirgis was raised in Perth, completing his junior medical years within the WA community he proudly calls home. That deep familiarity with the people, the landscape and the spirit of Western Australia is what drove his commitment to returning home — and delivering world-class surgical care, right here where it matters most.
At the heart of it all are our CORE VALUES: the trusted partnership, ethical care, and uniquely tailored treatment plan that every single patient deserves.
