Dr David Francis is an ophthalmologist who treats patients at St John of God Ballarat Hospital.

Dr Francis graduated with a medical degree from Monash University in 2002 and has since worked as a general hospital doctor in Melbourne, Geelong and Perth.

Dr Francis undertook research to complete a Master of Surgery degree through the University of Melbourne and the Centre for Eye Research Australia in 2006.

Dr Francis trained in ophthalmology through the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and went on to complete a fellowship in corneal and anterior segment surgery at the Eye and Ear Hospital.

He has published ophthalmic research in peer reviewed journals in addition to presenting research at national and international ophthalmology conferences.

Dr Francis is an accredited eye surgeon and member of the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Ophthalmology and a member of the Australian Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the Australian Cornea Society.
