The finishing touches are being applied with artwork being installed and the completion of landscaping. The gardens have been thoughtfully designed to provide green spaces that complement the natural surroundings, creating a welcoming arrival experience and offering peaceful outlooks from patient rooms and shared spaces. These final touches help transform the building into a warm and inviting hospital environment.

The new hospital has reached a major milestone with practical completion reached, bringing the highly anticipated 123-bed facility one step closer to opening its doors to patients on 27 August 2026. Practical Completion is when the builders essentially 'hand over the keys’. It signifies that construction of the hospital is substantially complete and responsibility for the building transfers from the construction team to the St John of God Midland Private Hospital team. As we move closer to opening, a significant amount of work is continuing behind the scenes to prepare for commencement of services, particularly across clinical operations, systems integration and overall operational readiness.

Major structural components of the facility are now largely complete, with the internal fit out progressing well. The upper floors are nearing completion as works continue across key clinical and support areas.

Landscaping has also commenced and will form an important part of the overall environment. The extensive outdoor spaces are being thoughtfully designed to provide a variety of areas for quiet reflection, connection with loved ones and moments of respite for patients, families and visitors.

Network activation

On 19 January 2026, in collaboration with Datacom and Cisco, we switched on the new hospital’s secure network, a major milestone for our digital infrastructure.

This network keeps the hospital connected and running smoothly. It links clinical systems, business services, and building operations, while providing safe access to organisation-wide systems and the internet.

Supporting thousands of devices across the facility, it will help power essential services, keep our caregivers connected and support the safe and effective care of our patients.

Building commissioning has started

Building commissioning has now commenced at the new hospital. This means key systems such as power, lighting, air-conditioning, lifts, and safety features are being tested to ensure everything is working as intended ahead of opening.
