Congratulations to Registered Nurse, Novie Cabucos for receiving a St John of God Health Care Scholarship to study a Diploma in Midwifery.

Novie enrolled in the program at La Trobe University after being selected to participate in the St John of God Health Care Student Midwife Employed Model that enables employed registered nurses to complete post-graduate midwifery studies at a partner university.

"With 21 months spent as a Registered Nurse in Maternity under St John of God Health Care, I also brought prior experience as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife from the Philippines," Novie said.

"My passion lies in providing compassionate care for mothers and babies, offering support throughout pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postnatal period.

"My aspiration to become a qualified Registered Nurse and Midwife in Australia has been a long-standing dream, and I was elated when St John of God Health Care advertised scholarship opportunities for its caregivers.

"I am profoundly thankful for the support of St John of God Health Care and my Maternity Unit Manager, Nicole, for entrusting me with this opportunity.

"Through this scholarship, as I work towards becoming a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife, I aim to enhance my confidence, knowledge, skills, and experience in delivering Australian standard care to the community, particularly the people of Bendigo and its surrounding areas.
