Being familiar with where to go and what to expect can help lessen any anxiety you may have about coming to our hospital to have your baby.

We offer maternity tours at most of our St John of God Hospital locations. Here is a little bit more about what you can expect from the maternity ward tours at St John of God Mt Lawley hospital.

Before giving birth, we want to make sure you feel as supported and reassured as possible, and invite you to attend one of our tours, which are held weekly on Saturdays.

“On our maternity tour, you will be taken around the ward and shown our birthing suites, patient rooms and other facilities by our midwives” says Midwifery Manager Emma Cook.

“Just being able to walk around and familiarise yourself with our ward can go a long way towards calming pre-baby nerves. Even knowing where to park and how to get to the ward can help with this."

Two of the birthing suites at St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital have recently been completely refurbished and were designed in consultation with our midwives to make sure the suites are practical and comfortable with mum top of mind during the birth.

“The suites are large, which is great for mums who want to move around during labour. All our rooms are single rooms, with double beds. As the first few days of your baby's life are pivotal in establishing bonds with both parents dads are also able to board overnight for a fee.”
