Acute services

Our acute services help you, as a busy GP, to easily refer your patients to our hospital so they can access our leading private care and avoid public hospital wait times.

You can refer patients directly to the following acute services at St John of God Subiaco Hospital:

Acute Cardiac Service

The hospital’s Acute Cardiac Service offers 24/7 cardiac care for privately insured patients experiencing acute cardiac symptoms including:

  • cardiac arrhythmia (such as bradycardia)
  • presyncope/syncope
  • suspected heart failure
  • pacemaker/cardiac device issues.

Please note that patients with STEMIs are not currently accepted through this service.

Patients who meet our admission criteria are admitted directly into our Coronary Care Unit, where they are cared for by the hospital’s leading cardiologists and specialist nurses.

The service is delivered in collaboration with Western Cardiology and includes an acute admission and assessment area.
