Chief executive officer Trevor Matheson joined caregivers Mark Powell and Brad Smith and former staff member John Oxford in the close shave, with all funds raised going towards research, prevention and support services.

A last minute addition was patient Leigh Doak, who made his own donation to the hospital’s Relay For Life team to take part.

Local hairdressers Brock McEwan-Hill and Mardi Robertson, from Men Only, made short work of the shave, which raised more than $1000. St John of God Warrnamabool Hospital staff member Ross Levett will add to that total when he gets his head shaved at the Relay For Life event in Warrnamabool this on Friday.

Mr Matheson said it was the fifth year he had shaved for the cause and the first time Warrnambool’s St John of God had been involved in the Relay For Life head shave.

The St John of God Warrnambool team will join about 35 other teams taking part in Warrnambool’s Relay For Life at Deakin University on Friday night.
