Consumer engagement

Engaging with people in our community is important to us at St John of God Warrnambool Hospital. We provide consumers with opportunities to share their feedback on how we’re doing and areas we could improve.

We have a Community and Consumer Reference Group that serves as an advisory committee to our hospital.

They play an important role in representing patient and visitor views. Each member of the group has been a patient at our hospital in the past or has visited family or friends in our care.

The group meets quarterly with our Chief Executive Officer and Director of Nursing and share valuable, objective feedback on:

  • the quality of hospital information, publications and brochures (for example, whether they are easy to understand and meet the needs of patients and visitors)
  • patient safety and quality performance measures
  • service reviews through other hospital committees.
