What year did you enter the nursing or midwifery profession?I entered the nursing profession in 1988.
Name three reasons why this profession is so meaningful to you?
Being a nurse is so meaningful to me, as no two days are the same. Every day brings a new challenge and opportunity to make a difference in the care we provide for patients during their hospital stay.
I enjoy working as part of a team, and sharing experiences with my colleagues to further improve the medical and emotional wellbeing of patients and their families.
It is wonderful to have many opportunities to grow personally and professionally. As a nurse, I am constantly learning new skills as I interact with and care for patients.
What has been your proudest moment at St John of God Subiaco Hospital?
I have had many proud moments during my time at St John of God Subiaco Hospital. One that comes to mind, is being offered a step up into a staff development role after being at the hospital for only four months. I became a teacher and a mentor for new graduate nurses starting in the profession. This has led to further recognition and promotions which I am grateful for.
