Volunteers

Volunteers provide a valuable contribution to our hospital and further enhance our commitment to providing a high standard of holistic health care for our patients.

We are grateful for their generous commitment. We ensure our volunteers are treated with respect, their efforts are valued and acknowledged and the roles provided are meaningful.

Volunteer caregivers are provided with:

  • orientation outlining all of the services and facilities available
  • orientation to Mission Formation at St John of God Health Care
  • a Volunteer Caregiver Orientation Handbook
  • a position description
  • a volunteer role specific induction and training booklet and continue to be offered generic and role specific training.

Volunteers are adequately supervised, managed and supported through formal processes ensuring inclusion into the area.

We provide opportunities for volunteers to engage and connect with our hospital and provide suggestions and feedback related to volunteering.

Volunteer requirements

Volunteers must be aged 21 years and over, and be able to undertake the role as per the identified volunteer position description.
