Why did you join us?

I was interested in working at St John of God Murdoch Hospital as I thoroughly enjoyed my clinical placement here during my university time.

What do you enjoy most about working with us?

What I enjoy most about working at St John of God Health Care is that it is a big family - almost is an extension of my own family. We are all good friends and we support each other both personally and professionally.

What opportunities have you received while working with us?

While working at St John of God Murdoch Hospital, I've received multiple opportunities for development and training. I started here as a Graduate Registered Nurse and I'm currently a Clinical Nurse on the ward. I've loved my time here and I’ve had eight years of experience to upskill, to develop my skills, and become the nurse I am today.

I have really enjoyed the opportunities provided and I've been able to develop at my own pace. Being a mature aged entrant to nursing, I feel I've been supported the entire way both professionally and personally.

What do you love about living in Perth?

I was born and raised in Perth and I absolutely love Western Australia. I've travelled extensively overseas, I've lived overseas and I've also travelled over in the east coast.

However, my heart is here and I'd love you to join us. Western Australia has the best beaches, lifestyle and people.

What do you want other people to know about working with St John of God Health Care?

St John of God Health Care provide a wonderful family work life balance. As a mother and a mature age entrant, I was supported from a graduate nurse all the way into my position today. Still today, I feel just as supported it as I did then.

How do you socialise with your team outside of work?

Our team does love to socialise outside of work. We do this to celebrate the arrival of new babies, to celebrate birthdays and just to celebrate minor and major achievements.

What does St John of God Health Care do to make you feel cared about in the workplace?

St John of God make me feel cared about in the workplace all throughout the year. We celebrate birthdays. We have a great Christmas party and we celebrate a wonderful annual ball every year.

Not only do we feel supported on a corporate level but I also feel super supported on a ward level. My nurse manager is amazing and he always has an open door policy. We often do little gifts of appreciation and fun activities throughout the year.
