The free Patient Information Seminar Series began in 2020 as a way to inform the public about various medical procedures. Delivered by specialists, the series is designed to empower treatment decisions.

Mr George Sim will be presenting a Patient Information Seminar on children’s ear, nose and throat conditions on 27 March 2021 at St John of God Murdoch Hospital Function Centre.

Mr Sim is a paediatric ENT surgeon and Head of Paediatrics at St John of God Murdoch Hospital, with interests in all aspects of paediatric ENT conditions. This includes obstructive sleep disorders, otitis media / ear infections, airway, voice and swallow disorders, and head and neck masses.

“The session will discuss common paediatric ear, nose and throat issues. We will also discuss any anaesthetic with paediatric anaesthetist Dr Mairead Heaney,” Mr Sim said.

“The sessions are designed to help you make informed decisions about conditions, treatment and surgical options. There will be time for questions and discussion after the presentations.”

Throughout 2021 a range of sessions will be held at the hospital as part of the series, covering topics such as joint replacements, bariatrics, cataracts, back and neck pain, gynaecological procedures, ablations and pacemakers.
