Tiny tots first aid

Presented by the experts at St Johns Ambulance, the regular sessions held at St John of God Murdoch Hospital will teach soon-to-be parents first responder skills for a range of infant and toddler related injuries and illness.

St John of God Murdoch Hospital's maternity families are being equipped with first aid skills specific to infants, to help with life as a new parent.

St John of God Murdoch Hospital is running first aid courses for parents of babies, with St Johns Ambulance

Topics covered include: 

  • CPR
  • DRSABCD action plan
  • Recovery position for child and infant
  • Choking
  • Asthma
  • Drowning
  • Allergic reactions and Anaphylaxis
  • Fever and febrile convulsions
  • Trauma management: bleeding, burns, head injuries
  • Meningococcal disease

Patients who are registered to birth at Murdoch will be offered registration at the Early Parenting Class held at Murdoch.
