Murdoch COVID vaccination clinic

St John of God Murdoch Hospital is pleased to be the first private hospital in the state to offer a COVID vaccination clinic for those eligible for the 1B AstraZeneca rollout.

 Covid clinic at Murdoch

Please note: Murdoch clinic is available only to healthcare workers who have received notification of eligibility from the WA Department of Health. This includes public and private hospitals.

St John of God Murdoch Hospital cannot administer the vaccine to those not in the call up. The Murdoch COVID clinic is by appointment only. Sorry, no walk ins.

The clinic is onsite at our MURTEC facility and best accessed via the external foot path. View the map for parking and access.

Fiona Stanley Hospital staff: view the pedestrian access map from Fiona Stanley Hospital. The clinic is not in the main hospital and the most direct route is around the outside of the building.

Parking is limited onsite, please consider other options.

Appointments are not made through St John of God Murdoch Hospital. The vaccination process is being implemented by WA Department of Health and St John of God Murdoch Hospital do not have any direct control over it; rather we are participants in that process.

Those eligible will be provided with a link, which will take you to the WA Department of Health vaccination website.

The website will not open on old internet browsers, so use Google Chrome or your mobile phone/ tablet. You will need to register using your:

  • Medicare number
  • Staff number (as applicable)
  • An email address /mobile phone number that can receive the website passcode

After registration, you will receive a separate email to book an appointment.

Ten of thousands of people are included in Phase 1B. Currently both vaccination doses and the clinic locations are limited, which may make getting an appointment challenging initially.

Do not be concerned as doses and locations will increase soon.  Remember, there is no rush.  We are lucky to not have the urgency of some other countries with higher transmission rates.

There are multiple clinic locations around Metropolitan Perth. When you enter your postcode, you will be offered locations closest to you.

Car parking is limited at the Murdoch campus and is ticketed. Please consider alternate travel.

The Murdoch clinic is located at MURTEC, St John of God Murdoch Hospital. Please access this via the main MURTEC reception, which is along the South St side of the hospital grounds.

View the map and parking information.

Please note: The Murdoch COVID clinic is by appointment only. Sorry, no walk ins.

Unfortunately, the clinic cannot take direct enquiries. Currently the rollout is limited to healthcare workers from a hospital; please contact your relevant manager from your workplace for more information or visit the Healthy WA website.

Please note the hospital cannot assist with bookings as this is managed via the Department of Health.
No – you can book your second vaccination at any site offering bookings for that injection.

This can be done online via the link you received when you first made a booking, and cannot be done directly through the clinic.

At Murdoch, we are vaccinating with the AstraZeneca brand, which has been shown to be very effective and safe.

You will need two doses, approximately 12 weeks apart. This vaccine is being produced in Australia.

A number of Murdoch doctors and caregivers in Phase 1A have already accessed the vaccine with great success.

Some recipients of the vaccine have reported side effects ranging from just tenderness at the injection site through to flu symptoms. Please be aware that anaphylaxis is a risk with any vaccination.

Taking the vaccine is not mandatory.  We have been very lucky in WA but returning to some level of normality is contingent on widespread vaccination.

Reports show the rollout of the vaccine in the UK has led to a significant reduction in COVID-related hospital admissions.
