Happy 10th birthday to our Specialist Rehabilitation Service

Friday 20 November marked a very special milestone in the history of St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital – it was the 10th birthday of our Specialist Rehabilitation Service.

When the Specialist Rehabilitation Service first opened its doors on 22 November 2010, the rehabilitation service was Western Australia’s first accredited private rehabilitation service. It had 20 beds originally and then expanded to 41 beds in 2015. Since then, our services have grown and developed greatly. We have a large, diverse multidisciplinary team to provide care and support to restore patients’ ability to function at their best following an illness, injury or surgery.

Our team, led by a rehabilitation physician, includes specialist rehabilitation nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, social workers, speech pathologists, psychologists, podiatrists and music and art therapists.
