The diverse nurse - a story of our operating theatre nurses

When asked what makes a good operating theatre nurse, St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital Nurse Unit Manager Oliver Brennan provided the following meaningful response.

St John of God Mt Lawley Nurse Unit Manager Oliver Brennan says operating theatre nursing requires a unique type of nurse.

“We are the ones who care for you in your most acute hour of need and are the voice of protection and care while you are in surgery," he says.

“I am proud of all the members of my perioperative team and the excellence in care they bring to work every day.

“Our team comes from diverse backgrounds and are mothers, fathers, students and clinical experts who always have a professional approach to caring for patients.”
