Perioperative nurses are an integral part of any surgical team, working closely with surgeons, anaesthetists and other caregivers.
They provide care to our patients before, during and after surgery.
Clinical Educator, Shannon Francis and Nurse Manager, Perioperative Services Oliver Brennan announced a number of awards for perioperative nurses acknowledging their valuable contribution to the operating suite.
Award winners included:
- Amitha Primilson
- Charlene Matanguihan
- Henry Corry
- Sunitha Jose
- Cheryl Zau
Shannon says many caregivers were nominated for these awards.
“We have a great team and Perioperative Nurses Week is a great way to acknowledge the work they do,” says Shannon.
“I would also like to thank all those working in the perioperative department, including the CSD team, our orderlies, supply, housekeeping, the patient food services team and our wonderful clerks and orthopaedic technicians.
“Each and every person plays a huge part in the delivery of excellent service and care for our patients.”
