Ben Edwards, Acting Chief Executive Officer, says this phase of work was made possible thanks to the fantastic efforts of the patient services team that manages both the kitchen and cafeteria.

“It has been no easy feat for our team during this period, as they play an incredibly important role in serving over 400 meals each and every day,” said Ben.

“The kitchen plays a central role to the smooth running of our hospital and the team has shown a commitment to continuing to provide the same level of excellent service and I would like to take this chance to thank them for their efforts.”

The kitchen redevelopment was staged to minimise impact to patients, visitors and caregivers, and was carried out over a two month period.

Marcel Willimann, Manager Patient Food Services, also paid thanks to the patient food services team.

“Our team worked very hard over the redevelopment period, and I am pleased to now see them settle into a fresh new space to work.

“It was a fantastic team effort and I am looking forward to seeing this great work continue into the future.”

Caregivers joined Father Brian and the Patient Services team at a morning tea for a special blessing of the kitchen area.

The kitchen redevelopment is part of a $17million investment to refurbish and redevelop St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital.
