St John of God Midland Private Hospital 2023 Community Wellbeing Grants

Offering grants between $500 and $2500, the grants program is designed to provide support to local community groups who aim to improve the mental and/or physical wellbeing of the community.

St John of God Midland Private Hospital Chief Executive Officer Paul Dyer said the grants are designed to provide additional support to local groups who are contributing towards building a healthier community.

“The Community Wellbeing Grants enable us to help those in our community who serve others, by providing funding support for local groups.

We place great focus on supporting the communities we serve, especially with initiatives that improve health and wellbeing outcomes. As a not-for-profit organisation we aim to ensure our care is felt beyond our hospital walls” he said.

It is the first time the Community Wellbeing Grants have run since 2020.

“After three years of disruption during the pandemic, it’s important for us to re-introduce the Community Wellbeing Grants to provide a much needed boost for local grassroots groups who are attempting to rebuild programs that enhance health and wellbeing” Mr Dyer said.

Between 2013 and 2020 the grants supported more than 50 initiatives.

Previous grants were used for a youth development/ambassadorship program, to develop cooking skills, a parenting support group, gardening initiatives, fitness programs, outdoor musical instruments and an indoor play space.

To be eligible for this round of funding, organisations will need to demonstrate how a project (including an event, program or service) will contribute to the mental and/or physical wellbeing of the community. Priority will be given to projects that positively impact one or more of our key focus areas:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people,
  • youth or
  • people living with a disability and their carers.

Applications close on 3 March 2023.
