Our annual Go and Do Likewise awards recognise caregivers who enhances the hospital's service delivery, their contribution to long term change and how they reflect our Values of Hospitality, Compassion, Respect, Justice and Excellence.

This year's winners are Sarah Quenby and Dr Stuart Adamson.

St John of God Geraldton Hospital Chief Executive Officer Brenda Bradley said both Sarah and Stuart were worthy winners.

"This year, we had quite a few nominations but we simply could not decide between Sarah and Stuart," she said.

"Both are such worthy winners for how they bring to life our Values in everything they do.

"Congratulations Sarah and Stuart."

About our winners

Sarah Quenby St John of God Day Gerladton 2018

Sarah works with the administration team and on the ward as a PCA while studying nursing at the Geraldton University Centre. While Sarah provides exceptional service to our customers, she was also nominated for her mission trip to Cambodia with “Tabitha Australia”. Sarah raised $1875 which covered the cost of building a house, a water source and further funds to go towards supporting the family. The house provides a simple shelter for the families to liveand sleep in, changing their lives for the better. There is no doubt that she is a worthy winner of the GADL award as she continues to contribute in all our core values here at our hospital.

Dr Stuart Adamson St John of God Day Geraldton 2018

Dr Adamson, a GP anaesthetist, is consistently helping both patients and staff on a regular basis by offering his services as a GP or a shoulder to cry on. He is always buying coffee for the staff and constantly being cheerful and boosting morale. Nothing is too big or too small for him and he is always going the extra mile for our patients. There is no doubt that Dr Adamson is also a worthy winner and we are very proud to have him on our team.

About the awards

The Go And Do Likewise awards are designed to highlight how our caregivers continue the work and Mission of St John of God and the Sisters of St John of God.

Hospital caregivers are invited to nominate a fellow caregiver who they believe has gone beyond the normal boundaries, and something which assisted in long term changes and benefited our services.
