Graduate nurse tours will be held every week from May 29 and bookings are essential.

As a large private hospital operator in Victoria, St John of God Geelong Hospital offers plenty of opportunities for registered nurses starting out in their careers in specialist areas like intensive care, emergency and mental health.

The tour provides a behind-the-scenes look at the hospital with further information provided about St John of God Geelong Hospital’s 12-month graduate registered nurse program.

St John of God Geelong Hospital Learning and Development Manager Dinie MacRae said that the hospital provides graduates with a great start to their nursing career.

“We provide a strong foundation to begin building a nursing career. The program offers two six month rotations to various clinical areas,” Dinie said.

“During these rotations the nurses are supported by experienced ward staff and clinical educators as they build confidence through a structured, professional transition to practice experience.

“Our nurses are encouraged to develop clinically and professionally in a supportive environment that is committed to mentoring, coaching and learning.”

Prospective graduate registered nurses are encouraged to book early to get on a tour of the hospital and to learn more about the graduate nurse program.
