What does the Wise Mind program involve?

The three-week inpatient program involves helping you acquire, commit and use practical skills and strategies to change your behaviour so that you become safer, more comfortable and ultimately happier in your own skin.

The program will provide you with the resources and strategies you need to decrease your current crisis and support you in planning for life at home.

You will participate in four skills groups to help you develop these skills:

  • Mindfulness
  • Interpersonal effectiveness
  • Distress tolerance
  • Emotion regulation

What support can I expect?

Our multidisciplinary team including mental health clinicians, medical practitioners and allied health professionals support you to achieve your health goals.

A step-by-step manual, based on current evidence and updated regularly, also guides you through the Wise Mind program.

The manual includes education, self-directed worksheets, and practical strategies to support you towards your personal recovery.

What follow up care is available?

Our three-week program is designed to help you recover from your acute situation, however you may wish to continue receiving support and take the time to develop your resilience further.

Our ongoing outpatient program, run through our Counselling and Therapy Centre, provides this support and skill development to support you to achieve your recovery goals and help you maintain your own happiness.
