Darling joined St John of God Bunbury Hospital in November 2021 with the oncology team, supporting patients and their families going through treatment.

“Working in oncology is a dream job for me,” she said.

“My dad passed away with cancer, so it makes me happy to support other people through this experience.

“Working as a nurse was actually a dream my father wanted me to achieve too.”

The move from the Philippines where she had worked as a nurse for five year to Bunbury has not come without hurdles for Darling including not seeing her family for three years.

Despite the distance, Darling said she would recommend the hospital to anyone thinking of moving to Bunbury.

“Try it. Bunbury is really nice and quiet community and everyone who works here is amazing,” she said.

“We have great team work and we all support each other.”
