St John of God Bunbury Hospital Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Williams said the council was a key part of the hospital’s commitment to partner with patients, carers and the community in regards to responding to the health needs of the community.
“The council provides a voice for patients, families, carers and the community and provide feedback into the planning, design, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of our healthcare services,” he said.
“We are seeking consumers and carers who are passionate about healthcare in the South West to join the Consumer Advisory Council.
“They need to have experienced the healthcare system first hand, either as a patient, carer or community member, and be focused on enhancing the needs of our patients and carers.
“We believe it is essential to engage patients, their families and carers as genuine partners in advising and leading healthcare developments at all levels.
“This approach also helps our hospital team enhance its services and ensure they best meet the needs of this region.”
