This is a two-hour session which aims to explore complex genito-urinary system health issues relevant to GPs, with four of our leading urologists and a gynaecologist presenting in a rotating format to small groups of GPs, followed with ample opportunity for questions and answers.

  1. Urinary incontinence - update on management options after optimisation of bowels, pelvic floor function and trial of medications. Do pessaries really help women? Outline surgery options with pros and cons.
  2. Outline investigation and management of the woman with recurrent UTI symptoms but with negative cultures.
  3. Management of catheter-associated urinary tract infection with temporary indwelling catheter or permanent suprapubic catheter.
  4. Overview of renal stones, and how can GPs best support patients in prevention measures.
  5. Erectile dysfunction workup and first line management, and indications for referral.
