Claudia is a physiotherapist at St John of God Bendigo in the outpatients area. With a keen interest in women’s health physiotherapy, in which she hopes to continue further study in this area, Claudia is thoroughly enjoying the antenatal hydrotherapy classes.
“It’s a fun class. I enjoy taking the class and getting to know each of the women who come along weekly," she said.
"I also go to the maternity ward and visit the new mums to discuss physiotherapy advice post pregnancy. It’s wonderful, now being the instructor for the antenatal class, to see those mothers who attend the classes when they have their babies here at St John of God Bendigo Hospital."
Claudia says there are plenty of benefits for exercise during pregnancy for any expecting mothers, but some of the great benefits for attending the antenatal hydrotherapy classes at St John of God Bendigo include:
- Reducing lower back pain associated with pregnancy
-
Nice safe environment
- Good opportunity to ask any questions
Women can start attending from 12 weeks onwards. Classes run on Monday and Thursday evenings from 5.00pm and Monday ONLY from 6.15pm at the St John of God Bendigo Hospital Hydrotherapy Pool, located through the Atrium in Allied Health.
