Because of her, we can

This year’s theme “Because of her, we can” pays tribute to the invaluable contributions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women have made – and continue to make – to our communities, our families, our rich history and to our nation.

NAIDOC Week at St John of God Ballarat Hospital

St John Of God Ballarat Hospital have a display in the front foyer promoting indigenous women who have been trailblazers, leaders and advocates in their chosen field.

A calendar of local community events celebrating NAIDOC Week is on display, as is factual information relating to our indigenous population, their languages, education, employment and health status.

All caregiver meetings during this week will commence with an ‘acknowledgment of country’ as a way to acknowledge the land's traditional owners.

Everyone is encouraged to find out more about the history of NAIDOC Week and nearby NAIDOC events.
