Staff from the department wanted to do something special and bring a smile to the faces of children who needed to spend time in hospital over this festive season.

The toy drive was organised in less than one week with an amazing assortment of toys for children of all ages delivered in person by Department of Human Services representatives, Catherine Day and Mahran Daniel.

"Even though the toy drive was organised last minute there was no shortage of enthusiasm from all our staff to pull it all together" Catherine said.

The Christmas tree in the hospital children’s ward is looking much healthier following their visit and it certainly did brighten the day of the children and their families.

The efforts of the staff from the Department of Human Services Hawkesbury Office were very much appreciated.

Joshua was looking forward to playing with his new board game and UNO cards with his brother later that afternoon.
