One of the great things about working on a private maternity ward is getting to see new families bond in their first few hours and days of being together.
Our private maternity wards enable these precious hours, days and nights to be shared not only between mum and bub but with their partner too.
We welcome partners staying in our maternity unit and taking the time to bond and focus their attention on their new baby as a family. It also gives both of you a chance to learn all about your new baby with support readily on hand.
Partners provide extra support in hospital
Not only is an extra set of hands beneficial in hospital, they can also:
- help settle your baby, particularly through the night so that you can get as much rest as possible
- help you in the hours after your birth , particularly if you have trouble moving
- entertain visitors while you breastfeed or rest
- bring from home or buy extra creature-comforts you may need
- provide emotional support for you and your baby.
Becoming a new parent can be a period of change. Spending time together in hospital as a family is a positive way to start your new phase.
Partners benefit from being in hospital and being part of the journey.
During their stay, partners:
- support mum and baby
- bond with their new baby
- focus on your new role without having to worry about day-to-day tasks
- take advantage of our hospitality.
