The website is a finalist in the best health or wellbeing website category, while the photo competition is a finalist in the social and content led campaign category.

St John of God Health Care Marketing and Corporate Affairs Manager Sally-Ann Parker said being named as a finalist in these national awards highlighted the organisation’s achievement in looking at the patient's overall experience and ensuring online interactions are seen as part of the overall relationship we have with our patients.

“More than 300 caregivers and 1,000 health consumers have been involved in creating our new website and their initial and ongoing input is helping us meet the needs of our patients and their families online,” she said.

“Our website now better reflects the compassion and care people can expect from us when they visit or use our services in person.”

Sally-Ann said recognition for the Healthy Men, Healthy Minds competition also highlighted the key role marketing played in educating people about raising awareness of important health issues in the community.

“This annual competition seeks to improve awareness of mental health issues that affect families across Australia and encourage people to seek help from our Raphael Services, which provide free or minimal cost counselling and therapy. It is great to see this online initiative receive well-earned recognition,” she said.

“I thank everyone across the organisation who has been a part of these projects, it is great recognition for the collaboration that has been required to better meet the needs of patients, doctors, caregivers and the communities we serve.”

The awards will be announced on 7 July 2017.
