Antenatal Risk Questionnaire training workshop
Earlier this year, the Australian Clinical Practice Guidelines for Mental Health Care to include the Antenatal Risk Questionnaire (ANRQ).
Developed by Professor Marie-Paule Austin the questionnaire will ensure the 300,000 Australian women who have a baby each year will have their emotional wellbeing checked by clinicians during and after pregnancy as a part of their routine maternity and postnatal care.
Undertaking the ANRQ as routine antenatal care is now funded under the Medicare Benefits Scheme.
St John of God Raphael Services is inviting midwives, practice nurses, GPs and obstetricians to attend free workshops, led by Professor Marie-Paule Austin, to understand and apply the psychosocial risk assessment using and scoring the ANRQ.
This training will enable health professionals to identify circumstances that affect a woman’s mental health and reduce the potential negative impact on infants and families.
There are two training workshops one tailored for midwives and practice nurses, the other for GPs and obstetricians.

Time (two sessions available):
- GPs and obstetricians: 6.00pm to 8.00pm
- Midwives and practice nurses: 2.00pm to 5.00pm (midwives and practice nurses) - Registration is closed, fully booked.

Registration is essential as places are limited.
Registrations for the GP and obstetrician workshop will close on Thursday, 25 January 2018.
