The Angelico Exhibition, a Catholic Arts event,
has been available to Catholic secondary school students for 24 years and this year’s event attracted a record number of 175 entries from 31 schools into the secondary exhibition.

The inclusion of primary school students saw participation soar with an additional 119 entries submitted from 23 Catholic primary schools.

St John of God Health Care Visual Art Scholarships were awarded to; Fraser Williams, Year 11, from Ursula Frayne Catholic College in Victoria Park and Allanah Glatzel, Year 6, from Assumption Catholic Primary School in Mandurah.

Fraser’s work is considered vibrant and across the multiple works he submitted to the prize he displayed a natural energy for his artistic endeavours.

Allanah expresses herself through her artwork and enjoys making thoughtful and personal gifts of art.  The scholarship will assist Allanah to continue to grow and learn as an artist through participation in workshops and to purchase new equipment to further her passion.

A selection of works from the 2017 Angelico Exhibition are now on display at St John of God Murdoch Hospital until September 21, 2017.

The exhibition is an opportunity for patients, caregivers and the community to enjoy the creativity and talent of students from the Western Australian Catholic Education system.
