Marillac Ltd supports people with intellectual and physical disabilities and their families in Melbourne and is now an entity of St John of God Health Care, operated by its Victorian disability service, St John of God Accord.

St John of God Health Care Chairman of Trustees, Ms Eva Skira will acknowledge the legacy of service started by the Daughters of Charity in 1943 and commit to continuing a service that enriches and fulfils the lives of its clients and their families.

“We will continue to build on the mission Charism of the Daughters of Charity and acknowledge their contribution to clients and their families,” St John of God Accord Chief Executive Officer, Mr Tony Hollamby said.

The ceremony will include the sharing of symbols and traditions between the two Catholic orders and mark the continuation of the service within a Catholic ethos. 
St John of God Health Care has the capacity to invest in the future of the Marillac Ltd.  St John of God Accord has the expertise to introduce new systems necessary under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

“St John of God Accord is at the forefront of improving and growing facilities and support services for people with disability and their families in Victoria. 

“With the inclusion of Marillac Ltd, St John of God Accord now has a combined workforce of over 500 dedicated disability staff that will provide support services to more than 660 clients and their families and guardians,” Mr Hollamby said.

St John of God Health Care is the largest faith-based provider of disability services in Australia and plans to substantially increase its service to the disability sector.
