Board Member Mr James McMahon appointed

The Trustees of St John of God Health Care (SJGHC) today announced that former WA Commissioner for Corrective Services and SAS commander, Mr James McMahon, has accepted an appointment as a Board member of Australia’s largest Catholic private health care group.

Mr McMahon’s appointment to the Board of St John of God Health Care took effect on July 1, 2017.

SJGHC Trustee Chairman, Ms Eva Skira, said James McMahon’s experience in private industry, as the Managing Director of the Chauvel Group and former Chief Operating Officer of Azure Capital, as well as his work in the public sector will be highly valued by the organisation.

“James has strong credentials in leadership and in an advisory capacity to companies, government and not for profit organisations. His diverse background includes a highly distinguished 24 year career in the Australian Defence Force and his skills will complement the Board and senior management team.

“We are delighted to appoint James to our Board,” she said.

SJGHC Board Chairman, Tony Howarth, welcomed Mr McMahon’s appointment, “James has deep experience in leadership and shaping culture and will be an asset to our organisation."

Mr McMahon has served on the SAS Resources Trust Board since 2008, the Australian War Memorial Board since October 2015 and is also an Ambassador for the Fathering Project.
