Reconciliation Action Plan

Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 2013 -2015 outlines our commitment toward reconciliation by identifying clear and measurable actions to build relationships and create opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Our RAP was developed in line with our Vision and Values and focuses on our ability, as a ministry of the Catholic Church, to improve both health and employment outcomes and opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people

In 2016 we will launch our next Reconciliation Action Plan, known as a stretch plan, which will build on the strategies and approaches already in action with a focus on long term goals.

Our commitments

Our RAP outlines the following commitments:

  • Relationships – build relationships to identify the most appropriate ways we can partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to effectively close the gap in life expectancy.
  • Respect – invite Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to participate in our health care facilities and other services to ensure we understand and respect their culture and needs.
  • Opportunities – we are committed to employing more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people which will bring a richness of understanding, knowledge and diversity.
