Michael Stening is Head of the Orthopaedic Department at Hawkesbury Hospital and has been a member of the Sydney Children’s Hospital Orthopaedic Department since 2000. Sydney Northside program trained, he completed fellowship at Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne.

He has clinical interests in paediatric management of lower limb deformities in cerebral palsy. Dr Stening is on the gait lab advisory committee, Sydney Children’s Hospital network. He also has a busy adult orthopaedic practice specialising in hip, knee arthroplasty, shoulder surgery and knee arthroscopy/reconstruction.

Dr Stening has particular interest in paediatric ACL reconstruction, anterior approach hip replacement, patient specific knee replacement and reverse shoulder replacement. Since 2009, he has been actively involved in supervising orthopaedic trainees both at Hawkesbury Hospital and the Sydney Children’s Hospital.
