Dil is a Melbourne-trained general surgeon who is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a Member of General Surgeons Australia. He is a general and laparoscopic surgeon who completed his surgical training via the Western Health Hub in Melbourne after graduating from the University of Melbourne in 2011.

Dil gained unique insight and experience after working in Melbourne, Perth, Launceston, regional Western Australia and Victoria over the last 10 years. He came back to Bendigo Health in 2023 to complete a fellowship to hone his skills in his subspecialty interests of laparoscopic colorectal surgery, anorectal surgery, acute care surgery, interventional endoscopy, renal access for dialysis, thyroid/parathyroid surgery and breast cancer surgery.

Dil is committed to treating his patients with respect and compassion and providing them with high-quality evidence-based surgical care. A patient-centric approach based on achieving the best patient outcomes, risk-minimisation and clear communication is key to his practice. He considers it a privilege to assist and support his patients using cutting-edge, evidence-based technologies and methodologies.

Whether employing non-surgical or minimally invasive procedures, Dil’s ultimate goal lies in achieving positive patient results.

Dil has been involved in primary surgical research over the last decade and also believes in empowering and teaching the next generation of surgical trainees.
