Dr Sam Anis is an Adult General Psychiatrist, Perinatal Psychiatrist and a Consultation Liaison Psychiatrist. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the diagnosis and management of mental health conditions including anxiety, mood disorders and psychosis in those over the age of 18. He is currently available to treat inpatients with Bipolar, Depression, OCD, PTSD, Social Phobia and Schizophrenia.

Dr Anis graduated from Cairo University with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1990. After completing his Masters’ degree in Neurology and Psychiatry in 1996 he became a Neuropsychiatrist. Between 2001-2006: He worked at Liverpool Hospital, Liverpool community, Fairfield community and STARTTS in accredited training positions. In 2007, he was appointed as a Staff Specialist in Psychiatry at Sydney West Area Health Services.

Dr Anis joined St John of God Richmond Hospital as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) in 2009. Between 2010 and 2016, he was a Staff Specialist at Blacktown Hospital and the head of the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry service. He has special interest in Perinatal Mental Health and worked as a Staff Specialist at St John of God Raphael Services in Blacktown for nearly 5 years.

He is currently a full time Psychiatrist in his private practice in Penrith.

Dr Anis is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and an International Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He is a member of the Faculty of Consultation Liaison Psychiatry (FCLP).
