Every Moment Matters: Annual Report outlines strong year and future focus
St John of God Health Care has released its 2025 Annual Report, highlighting a strong improvement in performance and outlining the organisation’s strategic direction within a rapidly evolving health care landscape.
Group Chief Executive Officer Bryan Pyne acknowledged the challenges facing Australia’s private health care sector while expressing confidence in a strong future.
“Australia’s health care landscape continues to evolve rapidly – shaped by innovation, rising demand and shifting expectations,” Mr Pyne said.
“In particular we’re seeing increasing demand for day surgery, home-based and virtual care, and growing mental health needs,” he said.
“Over the past year, St John of God Health Care has navigated these challenges with resilience and purpose, remaining unwavering in our commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality care.
“We are pleased to continue our strong trajectory toward economic sustainability, generating $2.2 billion in revenue, reflecting our commitment to ensuring the longevity of our legacy,” he said.

Mr Pyne said the new strategy, which came into effect on 1 July, is built for the realities of today’s healthcare environment and positions the organisation to strengthen its mission while building a more innovative and sustainable future.
“We have a proud 130-year history of providing compassionate care to those in need,” Mr Pyne said.
“Our new strategy will ensure we remain true to that mission in a modern and changing world - while building a more resilient, responsive and connected health care system.”
Key focus areas already underway include:
- Scaling digital and virtual health services, to provide more convenient and flexible care delivery.
- Expanding day surgery and holistic wellbeing services, aligned with patient demand and modern models of care.
- Rolling out a new integrated cancer care model across priority hospitals, offering coordinated support from diagnosis through treatment and recovery.
- Increasing investment in mental health services, to meet rising demand and improve access across communities.
“With the unwavering dedication of our caregivers, the trust of our patients, and the strength of our partnerships, I am confident in the path ahead,” he said.
