St John of God Health Care appoints new Group Chief Finance Officer

St John of God Health Care Group CEO Bryan Pyne has announced that Wes Smith has been appointed Group CFO.

St John of God Health Care Group CEO Bryan Pyne has announced that Wes Smith has been appointed Group CFO.

Mr Smith joins from automotive cooperative Capricorn, where he is Group CFO.

He commences on 30 October 23.

Making the announcement, Mr Pyne said that he was chosen from a highly competitive field, following a rigorous search.

“Wes is a highly qualified senior finance executive with excellent experience as a Group CFO in large and complex organisations,” said Mr Pyne.

“His experience spans more than 25 years in listed and private companies across a broad range of sectors, in Australia and overseas, and he has deep knowledge of all finance functions.

“His demonstrated leadership in senior financial and commercial roles will add to the strength of our existing experienced executive team as we continue to rebuild post the impacts of COVID.

“I look forward to welcoming him to St John of God Health Care.”

Mr Smith has attended the Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School, and has a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin.  He is a Fellow of CPA Australia, a Senior Associate of FINSIA, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. 

He is also Chair of Independent Living Assessments and a non-executive director of Indigo Inc.
