The City of Mandurah is currently advertising for public comment about St John of God Health Care’s Outline Development Plan for the staged development of a 120-bed
private hospital at 42-52 Lakes Road, Greenfields.
St John of God Health Care Group Chief Executive Officer Dr Michael Stanford said we are proposing to build and operate Mandurah’s first stand-alone private hospital, which
will offer residents of Mandurah and the wider Peel region greater choice in health care services and increased access to doctors across a range of specialty areas.
“For the past year St John of God Health Care has been undertaking detailed planning to ensure the development best meets the needs of the local community as well as the
requirements of the City of Mandurah,” he said.
“The two-storey hospital will feature a contemporary design that blends with the local environment and ensures maximum traffic flow along its entry point at Lakes Road.”
If the City of Mandurah approves the plan, St John of God Health Care will undertake further planning, including community consultation, before submitting a final
Development Application.
“With the area experiencing a growing and ageing population and high demands on local health services, the proposed new private hospital will offer many benefits to the people
of Mandurah, including high quality private health care close to home and employment opportunities,” Dr Stanford said.
St John of God Health Care is one of Australia’s leading health care providers with 13 hospitals and two further hospitals under development.
The organisation has built a strong track record over the past 118 years in providing high quality health care services in both the private and public health sectors.
Dr Stanford said as a not-for-profit organisation, St John of God Health Care’s sole focus is to provide high quality health care services to the communities in which it serves.
