With more than 16,000 medical, health and fitness apps now available, St John of God Health Care is pleased to launch its own specialised app – a ‘Find a Doctor’ search application that can be downloaded to iPhone or android phones free of charge.

The innovative new app allows users to quickly and easily obtain contact details of any accredited specialist across the organisation’s hospitals in Western Australia, Victoria and New South Wales.

Furthermore, users can search for a doctor by name, specialty or location, and an additional favourites function allows customers to save the details of preferred doctors for easy future access.

St John of God Health Care’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr Michael Stanford, said it was the organisation’s commitment to innovation that led to the development of the app and consideration had already been given to other app concepts.

“In the last few years, we have had increasing requests from patients to provide contact details of doctors, as many patients now like to choose their preferred specialist. This was a key driver for the creation of the ‘Find a Doctor’ search which is available on our website home page.

 "We then replicated this useful feature as an app to further improve efficiency and save time for our customers, by providing information at the touch of their fingertips,” Dr Stanford said.

“We constantly review the ways and means in which we provide our customers, and the community in general, with information. Our website, social media including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, brochures and now the addition of the app ensures we are meeting the varying needs of our customers.”

The app can be downloaded for free at any time from the AppStore via iTunes or the Android Market by searching ‘SJGHC Find a Doctor’.
