Major Hospital Redevelopment Totalling over $100 million, the major redevelopment at St John of God Hospital Subiaco is now complete and ensures the Hospital remains at the forefront of health care in meeting the community's needs. The project was one of the most significant and exciting developments at a health care facility in Western Australia in recent times and has won prestigious Architectural and Master Building and Construction awards.
Incorporating the Bendat Family Comprehensive Cancer Centre, extension to the Subiaco Medical Clinic, multi storey car park, Chapel and major refurbishment of the Hospital, the redevelopment includes new facilities and features such as five new operating theatres; additional consulting suites; Day of Surgery Admissions Unit; two Cardiac Catheterisation laboratories, and 45 beds for recovery following anaesthetic.
Following extensive planning and consultation undertaken prior to the commencement of the redevelopment to limit distruption to patients, visitors, doctors and caregivers, we are delighted the project has been a resounding success.
Thanks to your support, we've achieved something great - the great competence of our contractors, the solid support of our suppliers, the incredible patience of our patients, the tremendous talent of our specialists and the sheer determination of our staff, we have created a truly world class health care facility to service the people of Western Australia for many years to come. And for that we praise you and we thank you.
Combined Intensive Care and Coronary Care Unit Redevelopment
Following on from the major redevelopment, the Hospital has recently embarked on a new multi million dollar redevelopment program to construct a new and significantly larger Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Coronary Care Unit (CCU) in response to growing demand for these services.
More than doubling the existing capacity, the development includes a 20 bed combined ICU/CCU situated on the third floor of the Hospital along with installation of some of the latest technical equipment. This latest capital injection will continue the Hospital's commitment to growing and improving services to meet contemporary standards and community expectations.
