Graduate Nurse Program A Graduate Nurse program has been established for recent graduates to benefit from a hospital environment. The program was designed to enable graduates to master their new role and to grow both personally and professionally through a mentor/buddy relationship, whereby graduates acquire and consolidate skills and reflect on their nursing practice.
Entry Requirements:
Registered Nurse Division 1 who holds a current practising certificate with the Nurses Board of Victoria, and has less than one year clinical post graduate experience

Meets the selection criteria for Grade 1 Registered Nurse

A mid-year forum is held at each university to advise potential graduate nurses of the Graduate Nurse Program at SJGHC for the following year.

Graduate Midwife Program
A Graduate Midwife program has been established for recent graduates so that they can benefit from working within a busy maternity unit. The program has been designed to enable recent graduates to master their new role and to grow both personally and professionally. This will be achieved through a preceptor relationship where graduates are able to acquire and consolidate skills and reflect upon their nursing practice within Midwifery.
Entry requirements:
Registered Nurse Division 1 who holds a current practicing certificate (endorsed midwife) with the Nurses Board of Victoria and has less than one year clinical post graduate midwifery experience.
Interview
Meets the selection criteria for a Grade 2 Registered Midwife.
