Quality
During the past 35 years St John of God
Pathology has gained expertise in dealing with complex hospital
pathology as well as servicing medical practitioners and community
patients throughout Western Australia and Victoria.
The practice provides a 24-hour per day
pathology service and is also involved in providing associated
services to Hospitals. These include:
- Managing and consulting on all matters
relating to hospital infection control requirements
- Environmental monitoring of hospital
facilities – theatres, etc
- Participating in specialist clinical
meetings.
- Participating in teaching activities
(undergraduate, postgraduate, nursing and community based)
- Participating in various hospital committees,
such as Medical Advisory Committees
- Specialist consulting services in association
with all aspects of pathology services including
clinical
The practice currently employs
approximately 1,000 staff providing extensive knowledge and
experience in medical testing and laboratory management. Add
to this, state of the art technology and a practice wide commitment
to continuous improvement and you have a highly efficient, up to
date and quality pathology service.
Through the National Association of Testing
Authorities (NATA) and programs administered by the
Royal College of Pathologists of
Australasia and other nationally and internationally
recognised bodies, there has always been a great emphasis on
maintaining Quality Assurance of the medical testing component of
our service.
In 2000, St John of God Pathology
implemented a Quality Assured system of management, which satisfies
all elements of ISO / IEC 17025. In 2005 the system was further
assessed to ensure it’s alignment to AS ISO 15189.
By making every employee responsible
for ensuring quality is achieved in their daily work, both
internal and external customers are afforded consistent quality of
service throughout all aspects of our organisation.
