Welcome to our Clinical Midwifery Specialist

We would like to warmly welcome Shannon Scari as the newly appointed Clinical Midwifery Specialist at St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital.

Shannon brings a wealth of knowledge, including 14 years of experience as a midwife and 20 years of experience as a nurse, and has recently completed her Masters of Health Professions Education at the University of Western Australia.

“It is such a privilege to support families in this stage of their lives and St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital midwives are incredibly passionate about their profession,” Shannon says.

“The hospital has a strong reputation for excellence and a commitment to quality.” 

“I am looking forward to collaborating with our Family Birthing Unit caregivers and obstetricians to reinforce our reputation and provide the very best care to our local community.”

St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital Director of Nursing and Midwifery Emma Cook said that the new role will provide midwifery assistance on the floor, and expertise to lead quality improvements and ensure the delivery of an exceptional standard of care. 

“We’re thrilled to have a Clinical Midwifery Specialist on the team,” Emma said.

“Shannon has held a variety of nursing, midwifery and clinical educator roles, and will be an asset to St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital.”
